Foreword by Dr. Wong Yunn Chii

Photography by Maurice Lee and Tim Nolan

Timur Designs
is an architecture consultancy firm established in 1991 by Yong Ai Loon with the aim of providing personal and direct services to the clients. To date, many projects have been successfully completed and these have been the results of good collaboration between clients and Timur Designs.

In 1995, Chan Wai Kin joined the firm as a partner in an effort to provide a broader scope of work and to continue to improve the level of professional service to their clients.

Prior to 1991, both partners worked together at another architectural firm where they helped win 2 design competitions for the Chinese High School and Hwa Chong Junior College and the Outward Bound Singapore on Pulau Ubin. Individually, they have also been involved in drawing up the Development Guide Plan for Changi Point, design development of the KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital as well as luxurious residences for the Royal Family of Brunei Darussalam.

Since the formation of Timur Designs in 1991, a wide spectrum of projects have been completed, both in Singapore and abroad.

If the eyes are windows to one’s soul, then Maurice Lee’s lens is an aperture to a kaleidoscope of breathtaking possibilities.  With film as his canvas, Lee believes in imbuing every day objects with a fresh excitement and curiosity that captures your imagination and takes you to a different world.

Tim Nolan
is a British photographer who has been based in Singapore since 1993.  His work includes architectural and interiors photography for international architects and designers. His photographs have been featured in magazines and books published in Singapore and around the world. He also produces photographic and digital artworks for corporate clients.
