Casey
C.M. Mathewson
studied architecture at the University of Oregon and the Stuttgart Technical
University. In 1988 he founded mab – mathewson
architektur berlin , an institute devoted to building and research in
architecture. The themes of his publications include human focus in
architectural design, urban design in Germany, and the history of residential
architecture .
Ann Videriksen established her own PR and Marketing firm in 1993
after filling that role in-house with architectural firms in Los Angeles and
Copenhagen. She represents architecture firms in Los
Angeles as a media and marketing consultant for her own firm Design
Communication. She is a contributor to numerous magazines and books on
architecture and design, an advisor to the Masters
of Architecture lecture series at LACMA, and serves on the board of
directors of the A+D Architecture and
Design Museum in Los Angeles.
Frances
Anderton is the host of DnA: Design and Architecture , aired
monthly on 89.9 KCRW and KCRW.com. She is also producer of KCRW's national and
local current affairs shows, To The Point, and Which Way, LA?, both hosted by
Warren Olney. She studied architecture at University College London (Bartlett
School), and then traveled to Jaipur, India, to study the haveli courtyard
house for a Royal Society of Town Planning paper. She then became associate
editor of The Architectural Review magazine, one of the oldest architecture
publications; her first assignment was to produce a special issue on Los
Angeles. In addition, Ms. Anderton is the L.A. Editor for Dwell Magazine, a
contributor to Huffingtonpost.com and a frequent public speaker on architecture
and design on the West Coast. In 2009 she was made an honorary member of the
AIA/LA for her work in highlighting the LA design and architecture scene. She
has also been featured on TV and documentary programs about architecture; the
latest are the documentary films, Visual Acoustics: The Modernism of Julius
Shulman and A Necessary Ruin: The Story of Buckminster Fuller and the Union
Tank Car Dome.
